Jillian Magalaner Stone
Editor, Copy Editor, Proofreader
Need an editor, copy editor, or proofreader? Using my decades of editorial experience, I will evaluate your project, recommend an appropriate treatment, and provide you with a beautifully edited product.
After years as an editor at Fodor's Travel Publications, I hung out my freelancer shingle and began editing many different works, from self-help to fiction and literary criticism, from books and book proposals to brochures, newsletters, and websites. The common denominator: Ideas expressed in words clearly and powerfully.
Born and raised in Manhattan, I now live in South Orange, NJ, with my husband and two kids.
Jillian is an amazingly detailed, careful editor. She is fast, professional, loyal, and goes beyond what's easy to get the best copy for TheCovey. I trust her implicitly, and let her jump in and save my grammatical bacon whenever I can (she probably had to edit this testimonial, too)!
---Lesley Jane Seymour, founder of CoveyClub and former editor in chief of Redbook, Marie Claire, and More magazines
Jillian is an excellent editor and thinker. She brings to the project a fine mind, a passion for details and an ability to get the work done on time. I always recommend her and use her on my own cookbooks.
---Linda West Eckhardt, James Beard--Award winning cookbook author
Jillian Magalaner Stone is a pleasure to work with, a true professional, and a dedicated partner in the creative process.
Detail-oriented, focused and insightful, Jillian embodies it all as an editor, and she completes her work on time and with precision.
---Maia Kumari Gilman, Author, Architect, Artist
Jillian Magalaner's publication of a travel guide geared toward travelers with disabilities in 1994 (revised in a new edition by Fodor's in 1996) was a landmark.
